Swansea Consumer Support Network

Consumer Advice

Last year our network members dealt with around 7,000 consumer complaints as well as a large number of general enquiries.  Goods most commonly complained about include second-hand cars, mobile phones, electrical products and computer packages.  Complaints about work or services include typically home improvements, building work and tarmac contractors.  Other common issues include problems with consumer credit, insurance, and "scams" such as prize draw circulars, homeworking schemes, chain letters and foreign lotteries.  Businesses in Swansea also encountered problems with misleading mailshots from bogus data protection companies and the tactics used by internet domain name sellers.

This web site provides information and advice 24 hours a day to help consumers learn about their legal rights so they can resolve their problems and read about issues of concern to Swansea consumers and businesses.

From this page you go to our self-help advice sheets. If you are an Swansea trader or resident, we can send you leaflets including those produced by other organisations such as The Office of Fair Trading and The Department of Trade and Industry.

It is also possible to search the notes and leaflets for a relevant word or words. Check latest news for updates.
